Decorated UST coach Aric del Rosario passes away

The man behind UST’s four-peat crown campaign, coach Aric del Rosario, passed away at the age of 80.

Tagged to be the best UST head coach in the history of the UAAP, coach del Rosario spearheaded UST’s illustrious years in the league and help hone PBA legends like Chris Cantonjos, Dennis Espino, and Bal David.

According to his family members, the UST orchestrator suffered a cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead on arrival.

After his success in leading the España-based squad, he then propelled the Pampanga Dragons to a title last 1998 during the days of the Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA).

One of the most iconic moments in del Rosario’s coaching tenure was helping the Philippines clinch the 2003 Southeast Asian Games gold medal.

Del Rosario’s last coaching stint was with the Parañaque Patriots last 2018 in the MPBL.
