Filipina Denice Zamboanga has been one of the most charismatic personalities in ONE Championship.
Calling out champion Angela Lee on social media, Zamboanga has always been confident that she is the best fighter in the Atomweight division.
“If you’re really a champion, whoever you fight or whatever challenge you have face, you must accept it whatever it is,” Zamboanga shared after calling out the champ.
However, Lee is still on maternity leave and is unavailable to fight but bared that once everything will be all set, she will give what the fans want.
Before Zamboanga can take on Lee, the Filipina MMA sensation needs to surpass Korean kickboxing champion Seo Hee Ham in the quarterfinals of ONE: Empower to be held in Singapore.
Zamboanga is eager to square-off against the Korean champion and is confident with their game plan heading into the highly-anticipated matchup.
“Getting Seo in the first match is the biggest challenge I’m going to face in the tournament. I think this would be a good challenge for me because I know she’s a well-rounded fighter, very good on her hands. Seo is very experienced fighter and she’s a southpaw, and I don’t have much experience fighting southpaw. So I’m working hard for this fight, working on my striking and ground game,” said Zamboanga.
Zamboanga is yet to drop a single fight in her ONE career, maintaining her untainted record of 8-0 compared to Ham’s 8-3 win-loss record.
“I consider myself as one of the best because I’m included in the Grand Prix, and I’ll prove to them that I’m the best and the real no. 1 atomweight fighter,” Zamboanga added.
