To expedite the resolution of water-related issues, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), through its Water Resources Management Office (WRMO), has launched the “Wag Pataksaya Hotline.”
This hotline allows the public to report water-related concerns for prompt action by their respective water service providers (WSPs).
DENR Undersecretary for Integrated Environmental Science and concurrent WRMO Head Dr. Carlos Primo C. David explained that the hotline is an automated system designed to connect consumers with the appropriate WSPs in their area. It ensures that concerns are directed to the right authorities efficiently and accurately.
As the primary coordinating body for the water sector, the WRMO can refer concerns to DENR-attached agencies, such as the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) for Metro Manila, regional water districts for town services, and the National Water Resources Board for private WSPs.
“Consumers can report any issue, from meter readings and billing problems to water interruptions, and we will ensure their concerns are addressed and resolved,” said Undersecretary David.
He clarified that while the WRMO does not directly handle water-related issues or provide repairs, it assists in expediting the resolution of concerns submitted to its office.
To file a concern, the public can fill out the National Water Service Online Form at https://tinyurl.com/wrmohotline.
The form requires details such as the sender’s name, complete address, water service provider, and a description of the issue. Each submission generates a tracking number that allows users to monitor the progress of their concern.
Alternatively, individuals can contact the WRMO via SMS or Viber at 0949-884-8927 or email wrmo@denr.gov.ph.
The WRMO was established through Executive Order No. 22, series of 2023. It is tasked with integrating and harmonizing government efforts to ensure the availability and sustainable management of the country’s water resources.
