TRIGGER WARNING: SUICIDE ATTEMPT
Some students scampered out of their classroom at Igbaras National High School in Igbaras, Iloilo after a 23-year-old man surreptitiously entered the campus.
Armed with a knife, Jun scaled the fence of the Igbaras National High School around 3 p.m. on November 3.
He directly went to the classroom of Grade 11 learners where his former girlfriend, 18-year-old Donna (real name withheld), was attending class.
When he reached the room, he pulled out the knife and pointed it at his chest.
Major Tranquilino Querubin Jr., Igbaras police chief, said Jun claimed he meant no harm.
“By threatening to harm himself, he wanted to have his girlfriend back,” he said.
Jun has been badgering the teenage girl why she wanted to end things between them.
School authorities immediately called for police assistance.
In a matter of minutes, Jun yielded to the police.
Querubin said that it also helped that Jun’s girlfriend calmly talked to him and didn’t show signs of panic.
Even his parents immediately went to the school to appease the young man.
According to Jun’s parents, he’s undergoing treatment for depression.
Last week, he also tried to jump off a bridge after learning that his girlfriend was entertaining someone else.
