With synthetic controversies and bugging noises arising from the brewing ICC-Duterte imbroglio, expect a well-funded destabilization act to rear its ugly head from time to time, one after another – until justice is finally done and won for the victims of the previous bogus “anti-drug” campaign.
Corruption and “legalities” are the songs the destabilizers sing, off tune and off key. Be discerning, beloved country.
What can be more corrupt than how the grand Pharmally thievery (open and blatant) has painted and represented the previous administration? And what can be more illegal than what was done to the innocent souls, collateral damage and suspected drug addicts and pushers during that time? Weird.
There is corruption in the Marcos Jr. government and that is non debatable. However, contrary to the allegations and claims of some alumni members of the Philippine Military Academy, the Bongbong Marcos administration is not as corrupt as the Rody Duterte administration and other past administions of our past presidents except that of the truly “masa man,” the genuinely adored Ramon Magsaysay.
Corruption has been tamed even at the local level, I perceive.
But be enjoined by Gideon and Elijah from the Old Testament, dear BBM: Don’t be held hostage by the beats and clangs of both friendly and enemy cymbals, and thus don’t give in to the whims, caprices and demands of the opportunistic elements in the military and police who may take advantage of the current political weather — to get what they want (from you) for themselves — just because they hold guns and ammunitions in bulks, chest and display.
Increase the budget of departments to alleviate the plight, health condition and ignorance of the suffering, marginalized and victims among our people — victims of government neglect, injustice and social inequity.
Improve the quality of life of our people in general, not of the hungry among the full, much less not the budget of a task force with a mission to end a problem that they intend to remain a problem, for dubious but obvious reasons.
Has the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict or NTF-Elcac transitioned to a “social service” or “humanitarian” task force? But why double the budget for it in billions of pesos (recently) to give away goods and services to communities whose work is the work of local government units (LGU) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)?
Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto couldn’t be more correct and wiser when he once said in an interview, “In order to avoid or lessen corruption, reduce to the minimum the hands who will hold and dispense the budget. Let the budget go directly to the beneficiaries.” Alas, instead of abolishing the NTF-Elcac, ___ _________ __.
On behalf of our speechless, voiceless, faceless motherland. We, the people, must indeed pray and continue praying for the nation and our leaders, the president particular. You are right in your admonition, Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula. We will, your honor.
God bless the Philippines.
“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.” – 1 Timothy 2:1-2
