The most wanted person of Dingle, Iloilo was arrested morning of April 11 more than a decade after he was charged for murder.

Police collared Aris John Macahilo at his home in Barangay Agtatacay, Dingle.

Members of Dingle Municipal Police Station, together with personnel from the Provincial Intelligence Unit and Iloilo Police Provincial Office – Special Operations Group, nabbed the suspect by virtue of an arrest warrant for murder with the use of an unlicensed firearm docketed under Criminal Case No. 12-5243.

Executive Judge Vicente Go of the Trial Court Branch 68 in Dumangas, Iloilo issued the arrest warrant on April 18, 2017. He was not allowed to post bail.

Captain Aileen Lacrite, Dingle police chief, said Macahilo was accused of killing 18-year-old Mark Anthony Donasco, a resident of Barangay Palje, San Enrique town on April 21, 2012.

Old grudges were seen as the motive of the incident.

After committing the crime, Macahilo went into hiding in Mindanao with relatives.

Recently, his family coordinated with the police that the suspect would turn himself in.

But even if the suspect did not voluntarily go home, Lacrite said they have already zeroed in on his whereabouts.

Macahilo is now held in police custody for the proper disposition of his case.
