DOF Honored for Boosting PH IT-BPM Competitiveness

The Department of Finance (DOF) has been recognized by the Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP) for its pivotal role in supporting the growth and competitiveness of the country’s information technology and business process management (IT-BPM) industry.

CCAP, the official organization of Philippine contact centers, presented the commemorative plaque to the DOF on November 18, 2024, as part of its “Philippines: The Heart of CX” campaign.

The campaign emphasizes the nation’s position as a global hub for customer experience (CX) services by focusing on innovation, talent development, and digital transformation.

Undersecretary Renato E. Reside, Jr., who accepted the award on behalf of the DOF, expressed gratitude for CCAP’s acknowledgment and lauded the organization’s contributions to the IT-BPM industry.

“The DOF is proud to support the IT-BPM industry, which continues to play a vital role in the Philippine economy. Together, we can further strengthen the nation’s competitiveness in the global market,” Reside said.

He highlighted the sector’s impact on employment, national capacity building in communication and digitalization, and the responsible integration of artificial intelligence.

The event marked a milestone in the collaboration between CCAP and government agencies like the DOF in solidifying the Philippines’ status as a leader in the IT-BPM sector.

Also in attendance were National Tax Research Center Executive Director Mark Aure, CCAP President Mickey Ocampo, CCAP Marketing Council Vice Chairman Hanica Pacis, and CCAP Board Trustee Rommel Regino, among others.

The IT-BPM industry remains a cornerstone of the Philippine economy, contributing significantly to GDP and providing millions of jobs.

The recognition highlights the importance of government and private sector partnerships in sustaining the country’s edge in a competitive global market.
