The Department of Finance’s (DOF) Revenue Office (RO) has secured its third ISO 9001:2015 certification, reaffirming its adherence to global standards of quality assurance and efficient service delivery.
Finance Secretary Ralph Recto praised the achievement, stating that it reflects the DOF’s commitment to providing quality public service.
“Makakaasa po ang taumbayan na lalo naming pagbubutihin ang aming serbisyo at mas lalo pa po naming ilalapit ang gobyerno sa tao,” Recto said.
The ISO certification, issued by the International Organization for Standardization, validates that an organization’s processes meet international standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.
The RO and its support offices were awarded the certification on September 27, 2024, specifically for their streamlined process of granting tax exemptions on qualified importations.
This marks the third time the offices have been certified, having first achieved the ISO standard in 2017 and recertified in 2021. The current certification is valid until September 2027.
The DOF credits this achievement to its continuous efforts to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
The Revenue Office, led by Atty. Sheila Castaloni, along with Assistant Secretary Angelica Sarmiento and Directors Alvin Diaz and Lolita Verdadero, spearheads these initiatives.
Revenue Operations Group Undersecretary Charlito Mendoza and Policy Development and Management Services Group Undersecretary Niño Alvina represent top management in ensuring the office’s compliance with global quality standards.
The consistently high customer satisfaction ratings since the first certification underscore the office’s strong customer focus, according to the DOF. This latest certification further validates their ongoing efforts to streamline processes, making them more effective and efficient.
The ISO 9001:2015 certification is recognized globally as a benchmark for quality management systems, ensuring that public service institutions like the DOF maintain excellence in their operations.
