The Department of Health (DOH) warned the public about a false message circulating on social media claiming that individuals posing as medical professionals are conducting blood sugar tests with needles allegedly contaminated with HIV.
The viral post, which has caused widespread alarm, alleges that members of a “Faculty of Medicine” are visiting homes under the pretense of offering free blood sugar tests.
The DOH dismissed these claims, stating the message is unfounded and part of a “scare tactic” meant to spread fear.
“The Philippine National Police has also debunked this message, confirming that it is a scare tactic with no factual basis,” the department said in an advisory issued Saturday, January 11.
The DOH urged the public not to share unverified information and to rely solely on legitimate sources, such as official government websites and verified social media channels, for updates.
For accurate health advisories, the public is encouraged to follow the DOH’s official platforms.
