Through the assistance of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-6), a worker whose employment was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic received a PHP35,000 money claims representing the 13th month and separation pays.
Arlou and his employer reached an amicable settlement through the Single-Entry Approach (SEnA) facilitated by SEnA Desk Officer (SEADO) William P. Dungog of the DOLE-RO No. VI – Iloilo Field Office (DOLE-IFO).
“The Request for Assistance (RFA) of the affected worker was acted on immediately when the quarantine status was downgraded to General Community Quarantine, “said IFO Head Joselito G. dela Banda. “During the lock down period, face to face conferences were limited due to strict implementation of health protocols.”
A water re-filler, Arlou was requested not to report to work when their area was locked down and was not allowed to return to work when the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) status was declared.
His employment affected, Arlou sought DOLE’s assistance.
“The Regional Office understands the dilemma of the affected workers and we act immediately to address the needs of the workers and their families during this time of pandemic,” said DOLE-RO No. VI Regional Director Cyril L. Ticao after both parties settled amicably.
Like other affected workers, Arlou was satisfied with the result of the conference and was grateful of the assistance extended by DOLE.
