THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in cooperation with the Provincial Government of Aklan and the Aklan Guidance Counselors Network (GCNet) conducted a Career Advocacy Symposium last January 16, 2019 at the ABL Sports Complex, Capitol Site, Kalibo, Aklan.
The symposium themed Exploring Possibilities and Opportunities for Filipinos in the 21st Century focused on the challenges faced by Filipino workers to remain competitive and at par with employment and competency trends.
The activity also highlighted the opportunities available for those who can muster their strengths and skills to further their career perspectives.
Carmela M. Abellar, DOLE-Aklan Field Office head, said that the symposium was also a good opportunity for DOLE to educate and guide the students towards an employable career path.

Atty. Dela Torre along with his colleagues and alumni from Kalibo Pilot Elementary School Batch 69, Alan Colle High School, Aklan Academy High School, Kalibo Institute, Northwestern Visayan Colleges and Roxas Memorial College of Arts and Trades High School Batches 73 extended their support for the conduct of the symposium as part of their 50th Joint Grand Reunion.
