In its pursuit to provide accessible, speedy, impartial and inexpensive settlement procedure of all labor and employment issues, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office 6 has facilitated the payment of Php211,401,817 in money claims through its Single Entry Approach (SEnA) as of November 2023.
The conciliation-mediation program benefitted 3,453 workers all over the region and prevented labor concerns and issues from going into full blown labor cases.
“We have exerted our efforts to provide immediate and timely release of money claims of the workers without necessarily going to courts,” said DOLE-6 Regional Director Atty. Sixto T. Rodriguez Jr. who guides the Single Entry Approach Desk Officers (SEADOs) for effective conciliation-mediation.
Most of the Requests for Assistance (RFAs) were for non-payment or underpayment of 13th month pay, minimum wage pay, holiday pay, and overtime pay. There were also cases of non-payment of last salary and separation pay.
Out of one thousand five hundred four (1,504) RFAs handled, one thousand two hundred (1,200) were settled. Other requests were dropped due to lack of interest or were referred to other agencies.
The Regional Office also recorded a high disposition rate of 95. 94% for the timely disposal of one thousand four hundred forty-three (1,443) requests.
