WITH 39 Request for Assistance (RFAs) handled in November 2018 under the Single Entry Approach (SEnA), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Iloilo Field Office achieved an 89.7% settlement rate which resulted in the total settlement amount of P2,595,685.89.
The amount benefited 192 aggrieved employees from various sectors in Iloilo such as security agencies, transportation and construction industries.
DOLE-6 Regional Director Cyril L. Ticao said these workers asked for the agencys assistance in resolving their labor-related issues mainly non-payment of wages, non-compliance with the minimum wage and payment of their separation pay.
Ticao said SEnA, a reform measure institutionalized by the Department of Labor and Employment in 2010 to effect faster, fairer and inexpensive settlement of labor issues, proved to be very helpful as it indeed speeds up the process and reduces the cost of resolving labor-related conflicts.
SEnA is a citizen-centered system pivotal in the immediate resolution of grievances and de-clogging of labor cases. Through the system, labor conflicts are prevented from maturing into actual labor cases.
SEnA also facilitates the speeding up of the resolution of all work-related issues affecting workers and employers through conciliation and mediation between parties within 30 calendar days.
