BACOLOD City – A decomposing spinner dolphin was found on the beach of Barangay Zone 1, Pulupandan, Negros Occidental Tuesday morning.

According to Lumba Project, a website about the critically endangered Irrawaddy dolphins found in Bago and Pulupandan areas in the province, the dolphin was found around 5:30 a.m. and was reported by village residents Edith Bemirable and Joseph Agusijo to barangay officials.

Municipal Administrator Federico Infante Jr. informed the Lumba project about it to check the dolphin.

They opened the stomach to see if there were plastics, but none was found. However, it had multiple puncture wounds.

They, however, cannot tell if the injuries caused its death. The dolphin was buried at the said beach.
