The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Aklan District Engineering Office has completed the construction of nine multi-purpose buildings (MPBs) in various barangays in Ibajay, Aklan, each costing P1.9 million.
District Engineer Noel L. Fuentebella said the completed MPB projects are in barangays Antipolo, Aslum, Tagbaya, Tul-ang, Rizal, Monlaque, and Cabugao.
Each MPB has four units of full trusses with roofing.
Fuentebella said two more MPB projects were completed by the district which include the MPB in barangay Bugtong-bato (with complete roofing works, ceiling, electrical works, plumbing and sanitary works, toilet fixtures and septic vault; total cost – P1.92 million); and construction of the second floor of the existing hall in Brgy. Sta. Cruz in the amount of P1.97 million.
Fuentebella said the construction of three more MPBs are in full swing and nearing completion.
“The MPB project in Brgy. Aparicio involves construction of 13 units of concrete columns, 3 units of concrete beams, and 3 units of full trusses with roofing in the amount of P1.95 million, while the MPB in Brgy. Batuan and Brgy. Bagacay involve construction of 12 units of concrete columns, 10 units of concrete beams, and 3 units of full trusses structure with roofing,” DE Fuentebella said.
“These multi-purpose buildings will serve as venues for various social events and other activities of the said barangays in the town of Ibajay. This is one of the many contributions of DPWH towards social, physical and health development of the people,” Fuentebella added. (DPWH-6/RPAIO)
