BACOLOD City – A total of 16 persons were arrested and P1,783,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in eight buy-bust operations here and in Negros Occidental from September 27 to 29, which also led to the destruction of an alleged drug den in San Carlos City.
The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) here had the biggest confiscation, with P825,000 worth of suspected shabu seized from William Dingcong at Barangay Villamonte here last Friday.
CDEU operatives recovered from Dingcong 15 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 50 grams, and the P1,000 marked money. He is detained at Police Station 4.
Also arrested here that day was Joebert Barayoga, 35, of Barangay Cabug after police recovered from him three sachets of suspected shabu worth P7,000. He is detained at Police Station 9.
In Cauayan town, Jeffrey Talite, 30, of Barangay Tiling was arrested at the said village on the same day, for the seizure of two sachets of suspected shabu, and the P300 marked money.
The following day, personnel of Police Station 3 arrested John Paul Cordova, 21, of Barangay 12 here, after police seized from him six sachets of suspected shabu weighing 30 grams worth P450,000, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.
Also arrested that day in Silay City was Joemar Julayco, 32, of Barangay Guinhalaran, after he allegedly yielded 17 grams of suspected shabu worth P255,000.
Julayco is a target-listed drug personality of Silay City Police Station.
Over the weekend, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) raided an alleged drug den at Barangay 5 in San Carlos City, and arrested Jon Antonio alias, an alleged drug den maintainer.
Four others were also arrested while a minor was rescued after they were caught inside Antonio’s house during the operation that day.
PDEA recovered from them 20 grams of suspected shabu worth P136,000.
Last Saturday, brothers Godfrey Napilan, 42; and Raymond Napilan, 37 were arrested at Barangay Taculing here after police confiscated from them 10 sachets of suspected shabu worth P80,000, the P300 marked money, and drug paraphernalia. Both suspects are detained at Police Station 6.
Last Sunday, Adrian Pelayo, 32, of Barangay 5 here, a high value target; and Kevin John Guinalon, 45, were arrested at Barangay 2 here after they allegedly yielded 12 sachets of suspected shabu worth P30,000, drug paraphernalia, and the P300 marked money. Both of them are detained at Police Station 1.
