BACOLOD City – Five persons, including an alleged member of the “Bugalon” drug group, were arrested in two separate drug busts here and in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental from June 25 to 26, 2019.
The busts led to the recovery of P197,000 worth of illegal drugs.
Collared here early yesterday at Barangay 14 were Jerry Bugna, 19, the subject of the operation; and Sam Parimar, 20, both residents of Barangay 10; Rogemar Kalalang, 30, of Barangay 14; and Marlon Cordova, 26, of Barangay 8.
Police seized from the suspects 11 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 10 grams and valued at P125,000, the P200 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.
All four suspects are detained at Police Station 3.
In Kabankalan City, Kyle Jareño, 26, of Barangay 1 was nabbed Tuesday. He yielded six sachets of suspected shabu weighing six grams and valued at P72,000, and the P1,000 marked money.
Joint operatives of Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and city police station conducted the operation against Jareño near his house.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Jonel Guadalupe, Kabankalan city police chief, said Jareño is a member of Bugalon drug group that operates in the city.
“He is considered high value target because of his inclusion in a drug group,” Guadalupe said.
The group’s leader died few years ago and Jareño is part of the group’s remnants, he added.
“We are still monitoring other remaining members of the group,” Guadalupe said.
He refused to divulge Jareño’s area of operation and source of drugs as the investigation is ongoing.
