Drug surrenderer yields P400,000 worth of illegal drugs

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – An estimated P400,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs were recovered from a drug surrenderer in a sting operation Monday afternoon at Brgy. Barra here.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-Capiz) and Station Drug Enforcement Team of the Roxas City Police Station nabbed Antonio Cerujano, Jr., 31, in the buy bust conducted at his house in Sitio Tabai.

Recovered from Cerujano were seven sachets of suspected shabu, P500 marked money, and a cellphone.

Police Master Sergeant Ramil Arcangeles, Roxas City PNP spokesperson, said Cerujano was a drug surrenderer of Barangay Barra and underwent Community Based Drug Rehabilitation Program.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against the suspect who is presently detained at the police station.

Last Saturday, a 42-year-old drug suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of Capiz Police Provincial Office and Station Drug Enforcement Team of Roxas City PNP at Barangay Lawaan here.

Police identified the suspect as Julyter Candelario of Lawaan village.

Recovered from the suspect were seven plastic sachets of suspected shabu with market value at P40,500; P500 marked money, and a cell phone.
