BACOLOD City – Law enforcers and rescuers negotiated with a drunken man for more than an hour after he climbed up a bridge following a robbery hold-up incident in Barangay Caliban, Murcia, Negros Occidental last Sunday.

Police Major Joeil Reclamado, town police chief, said that suspect Fernando Camporaso Jr. undressed and climbed up a bridge after he allegedly robbed two lending collectors.

Based on the investigation, the victims were riding a motorcycle when they were waylaid by the suspect who threatened them with an improvised fishing bow before declaring a hold-up.

The suspect allegedly took P7,800 from the bag of the female victim.

Reclamado said they waited for the suspect to go down from the bridge, as he refused to surrender.

“Nag uba kag nag saka siya gulpi sa taytay nga daw mapalagas pa siguro,” he added

Reclamado said the suspect left the stolen cash on the ground before climbing the bridge, thus police recovered the money.

He said that charges for robbery hold-up were already filed against the suspect.
