The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Academy once again offers learning opportunities for DSWD Field Office VI employees.

The Academy is a sequel of DSWD LEADS (Learning Enrichment and Development Session) which was awarded champion during the Knowledge Management PRIDE last 2017.

“This is one of the creativities of the Knowledge Management of DSWD Field Office VI together with Learning and Development Section and Sectoral Program,” said Ma. Eloisa Garcia, DSWD-6 Knowledge Management Focal.

The academy has started its first class in November 2018 and tackled the topic about Children Sector in line with the Children’s Month celebration.

“We always make sure that our topics are parallel to the sectoral celebration. Since we will be celebrating Women’s Month, this new batch will learn about Women Sector,” Garcia added.

The new batch of students was already oriented at the Regional Learning Resource Center last February 26, 2019 and will be attending classes every Wednesday for a month.

“We will tackle issues in women sector, the associated laws and policies and of course the different programs and services of DSWD related to the said sector,” stressed Garcia.

Apart from the indoor discussion, the students will also have learning visits in DSWD6 centers and institutions and will be given certificates of recognition for attending the specified sectoral class. (MerryJezzelBrendia/DSWD-6/Photo courtesy of Tweetie Garcia)
