The Department of Trade and Industry-Region 6 collaborated with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center-Silicon Valley and the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco to promote startups in Region 6 on a global scale.
The DTI Region 6 team, led by OIC-RD Ermelinda Pollentes, welcomed the Dynamico Space team from San Francisco, California, USA, on Nov 17 to discuss partnership in marketing, matching, and connecting Western Visayas entrepreneurs to the US startup ecosystem at the DTI Regional Office.
The networking meeting was held with Dynamico Space, DTI R6 personnel, Provincial Directors, IT-BPM focal persons, and local startups/winners of the 2021-2022 Moonshot TNK pitching competition.
The team from Dynamico Space also visited ISAT U-KwadraTBI, DTI Region 6’s partner for incubating startup winners of the said pitching competition, to check the KwadraTBI facilities.

The collaboration aims to explore mentorship, networking and B2B matching opportunities for the Philippine Region 6 startups. This is part of the “Philippines-Silicon Valley Startup Program” aimed at assisting Philippine startups gain exposure to the United States and expand the Philippine founders’ network.
In addition, it has been a continuing initiative of DTI Region 6 to strengthen all industry clusters, especially the IT-BPM sector, by developing the innovation, startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Western Visayas.
OIC-RD Ermelinda Pollentes hopes that this collaboration will help DTI Region 6 realize its goal of becoming not only a premier location for IT-BPM locators, but also a seedbed for startups with a robust digital economic system.
