The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-6 continues to hurdle the challenges of assisting micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) come up with new and better offerings with significant improvement and innovation in the areas of quality, product development, design, packaging, standards compliance, marketability, production capability, brand development, among others.
With the theme “Makabagong MSMEs, Bagong Pag-asa Laban sa Pandemya,” DTI-6 is holding an MSME Week Trade Fair at the Outdoor Atrium of Festive Mall, Mandurriao, Iloilo City from October 13 to 17, 2021.
A total of 58 OTOPreneurs (One Town, One Product Entrepreneurs) will showcase their merchandise from processed foods, handicrafts, and other non-food products coming from all provinces in Western Visayas.
The exhibitors will showcase the different industries such as hablon weaving, piña and other fibers, yummy food and delicacies, artisanal homegrown crafts of fibers, bamboo, vines, abaca and various local raw materials.
“We cannot let this pandemic consume us. Instead, let us explore more ideas to confront these trials and come up with better solutions in extending assistance to our MSMEs, likewise, discover other opportunities brought by this pandemic,” said DTI VI Regional Director Rebecca M. Rascon.
The exhibitors were segregated per province, as follows: Aklan – 13; Antique –11; Capiz – 4; Guimaras – 9; Iloilo –9; Negros Occidental – 12. Jocyl’s Food Products, one of the exhibitors from Aklan, is the OTOP Hub operator of Kalibo OTOP Hub.
This activity is in line with the observance of the Consumer Welfare Month in coordination with Megaworld Lifestyle Malls Weekly Community Fair, a project that supports MSMEs across the country.
