DTI Chief to Promote PH Trade at Davos WEF

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Cristina A. Roque will attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting from Jan. 20 to 24, 2025, in Davos, Switzerland, to spotlight the Philippines’ economic progress under the Marcos administration.

Secretary Roque will be part of a high-level Philippine delegation led by House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, along with key government and industry leaders.

WEF 2025 will convene global leaders to address challenges and opportunities in international trade, investment, sustainability, and digitalization.

Secretary Roque aims to promote the Philippines’ economic priorities and the administration’s focus on micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), sustainability, and digital transformation.

“This year’s WEF presents a unique platform to showcase the Philippines as a dynamic and resilient economy, driven by innovation and inclusivity. Our participation underscores our commitment to strengthening international partnerships that uplift Philippine industries to thrive in the global marketplace,” Secretary Roque said.

Her itinerary includes bilateral meetings with multinational companies, government counterparts, and global leaders to discuss potential collaborations.

She is also scheduled to join panel discussions on trade and investment, innovative trade financing, digital economy agreements, and strategies for adopting digital solutions and sustainable practices.

“I am honored to represent the Philippines at these crucial discussions to highlight our strategic priorities, including the diversification of exports and the digitalization of our local industries,” she said.

The Secretary’s participation underscores the Philippines’ active role in global trade and investment dialogues, advancing initiatives under the “Bagong Pilipinas” agenda to ensure sustainable and inclusive growth for all Filipinos.
