GUIMARAS – To improve logistics efficiency and strengthen the mango supply chain, Trade Undersecretary Mary Jean Pacheco of the Department of Trade and Industry visited Guimaras on May 1, 2025, with her team from the Supply Chain and Logistics Group.
The visit was part of a joint initiative to enhance mango production and distribution across the province.
Key logistics partners—Airspeed, RAF Logistics, PHLPost and FAST Logistics—joined the visit to explore collaboration with local producers.
Their involvement is crucial in identifying supply chain gaps and creating sustainable logistics solutions to reduce costs, minimize delays and improve product handling and delivery nationwide.
The delegation visited Guimaras Wonders Farm, Kokomojo Farm and the Mango Growers Cooperative to assess on-the-ground operations and engage with local farmers and producers.
Discussions focused on strengthening processes across the entire supply chain, from production and harvesting to logistics and market distribution.
This engagement supports the Manggahan Festival by promoting local mango products, boosting sales and opening broader economic opportunities for mango growers.
The initiative aims to increase farmer income and improve consumer access to premium mangoes at competitive prices.
Joining the visit were Juvy Benliro, officer in charge of DTI Guimaras; Aurora Theresa Alisen, OIC division chief of the Industry Development Division, DTI Region 6; and Joejin Galvez and Bella Galimba of POAS.
The effort reflects DTI’s commitment to inclusive economic growth by empowering local agriculture and strengthening supply chain resilience through public-private partnerships.
