DTI Iloilo boosts MSMEs’ digital marketing skills

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Iloilo Provincial Office is equipping local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with essential digital marketing skills through a two-day blended seminar workshop titled “Advancing Business through Digitalization, Branding, and Marketing.”

The workshop, which began on August 13, 2024, has drawn 43 MSMEs from across the province, eager to enhance their online presence and digital marketing strategies.

The workshop features in-house resource persons who are digital natives from DTI Iloilo, including business counselors from various Negosyo Centers across the province.

Among the speakers are Ram Ydnar Tribulete from NC Guimbal, Janice Salanio from NC Mina, Christian Torreflores from NC Igbaras, Rosa Cabangal from NC Banate, and Rouella Suarez from NC Maasin.

They are leading discussions on the fundamentals of branding, maximizing the use of social media, crafting effective social media posts, and navigating online payment options.

DTI Iloilo Provincial Director Dinda R. Tamayo emphasized the importance of digitalization for MSMEs in her opening message.

“MSMEs nowadays must be comfortable with digitalization and increase their presence on social media. They also need to be proud of their products and be ambassadors themselves,” she said.

Tamayo’s message underscored the need for Ilonggo entrepreneurs to embrace digital tools and techniques to keep pace with the demands of the modern market.

This capacity-building initiative is one of many activities spearheaded by DTI Iloilo to support and elevate local MSMEs.

By providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the digital landscape, DTI Iloilo aims to ensure that these businesses remain competitive and thrive in an increasingly digital world.
