DTI Showcases 227 Filipino MSMEs at ProPak Asia 2025

BANGKOK, THAILAND — The Department of Trade and Industry Philippines reaffirmed its support for Filipino micro, small and medium enterprises on the global stage through its participation in ProPak Asia 2025, the region’s leading trade event for processing and packaging technology.

The delegation of 227 MSMEs and DTI officials was led by Regional Operations Group Supervising Undersecretary Blesila Lantayona, joined by Assistant Secretary Dominic Tolentino, Competitiveness and Innovation Group Assistant Secretary Nylah Bautista, Philippine Trade and Investment Center–Bangkok Commercial Counsellor Ella Burgos, and the DTI technical team.

Now in its 32nd edition, ProPak Asia is being held from June 11 to 14 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center under the theme “Carbon-Neutral Pathways: Sustainable Processing and Packaging Ecosystem.”

The annual event brings together global leaders, buyers, and innovators across eight key sectors, including food, beverage, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and logistics, to explore the latest processing and packaging solutions.

The June 11 opening ceremony was attended by international executives, government officials, and organizational leaders.

It featured a video presentation, cultural performance, and keynote remarks from Informa Markets Thailand Chairman Manu Leopairote, World Packaging Organization President Luciana Pellegrino, and UNIDO Representative Fukuya Iino, Ph.D., MBA.

Since joining ProPak Asia in 2018, the DTI has actively supported MSME participation to enhance international exposure, market access, and technology benchmarking.

ProPak Asia continues to serve as a strategic platform for improving Filipino branding, packaging, product quality, and supply chain practices.

In 2024, then-Undersecretary Cristina Roque led the Philippine delegation, accompanied by more than 20 DTI regional and provincial directors and over 300 MSMEs.

The Philippine exhibit showcased the creativity, resilience, and competitiveness of local enterprises on a global scale.

Recognizing the demand for sustainable practices in global industries, the DTI continues to guide local MSMEs in adopting environmentally responsible and internationally aligned processes.

Through sustained participation in global trade fairs like ProPak Asia, the DTI advances its mission of cultivating inclusive, innovation-driven, and competitive enterprises that contribute to national development under the “Bagong Pilipinas” vision.
