Young Gilas Pilipinas cadet star Dwight Ramos just outdueled his senior Kiefer Ravena in their recently concluded Japan B. League matchup.
Ramos and the Toyama Grouses got the better of the Shiga Lakestars, 95-90, which also featured an all-Filipino import clash between Ramos and Ravena.
Despite a late run from Ravena and the Lakestars, Ramos and Toyama still pulled off the hard-earned win and dealt the opposition its 10th straight loss of the B. League’s mid-season.
Ramos flirted with a triple-double all-around performance in the win with 14 points, 10 assists, six rebounds, and two steals.
Meanwhile, Ravena, who is currently in the midst of a shooting woe, lighted up for Shiga with 13 points and five dimes.
Toyama built a double-digit lead with six minutes left in the ball game, 82-71, but the resilient Lakestars cut it to just three, 93-90 with under 30 seconds left.
It was Ravena who led the Shiga rally after scoring on an acrobatic and-one opportunity and also draining a trey after the three-point play sequence.
However, Keijuro Matsui iced the game for the Grouses after converting on his two attempts at the charity stripe.
