BACOLOD CITY – The municipality of E.B. Magalona in Negros Occidental has recently been endowed with three new infrastructure projects, totaling P17 million in value.

These projects encompass a new multi-purpose covered court, a daycare center, and a covered court for Alicante Elementary School, each located in Barangay Alicante and collectively designed to bolster community development and early childhood education.

The projects were ceremonially handed over to the local government by Third District Rep. Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez, who was joined by Barangay Captain Leah Ruiz, Alicante Elementary School Principal Rowena Bulfa, and Mayor Marvin Malacon during the turnover.

Rep. Benitez, overseeing the handover, expressed that the daycare center, which costs P5 million, will serve as significant support to children between the ages of three and five. His vision is to see the daycare center evolve into a comprehensive Early Childhood Care and Development Center, with the backing of the municipal administration.

He further commented on the potential of the new P6 million multi-purpose covered court to act as a pivotal communal space for both learning and development activities.

Mayor Malacon acknowledged Rep. Benitez’s commitment to the constituents, particularly highlighting the positive impact on educational initiatives for youth.

“We are sincerely grateful to Cong. Kiko, for his overflowing love and unwavering support to the Saraviahanon people,” Malacon said.

The mayor emphasized the significance of the newly completed projects, which include another P6 million covered court at Alicante Elementary School, in advancing the educational prospects of children and fostering community growth.
