An electric tricycle driver was arrested on the afternoon of Nov. 4 in Iloilo City’s City Proper district on charges of sexual molestation.
The suspect, known by the alias Rolly, is a resident of Oton, Iloilo. He was apprehended while walking along Gen. Luna Street in Barangay San Agustin, City Proper.
Officers from the Iloilo City Police Station 1, along with personnel from the Regional Intelligence Unit 6 (RIU-6) and the Anti-Kidnapping Group – Visayas Field Unit 6 (AKG-VFU6), arrested the suspect under an arrest warrant for two counts of rape by carnal knowledge, recorded under Criminal Case Numbers 24-92914 and 24-92915.
Judge Globert Justalero of Regional Trial Court 6 (RTC-6) Branch 32 in Iloilo City issued the arrest warrant on Oct. 18, 2024.
No bail was set for the suspect’s temporary release.
Rolly is the ninth most wanted person in Western Visayas.
Captain Roquero Gimeno III, chief of ICPS1, said Rolly allegedly fled Oton after being charged with rape.
The suspect’s 16-year-old relative reportedly accused him of sexual molestation.
He was recently tracked to Barangay Bolilao in the Mandurriao district.
Gimeno stated that authorities managed to lure the suspect until he lowered his guard, leading to his arrest.
Rolly is currently in detention and will be turned over to the appropriate court.
