One of the greatest Filipino Mixed Martial Artists (MMA) is ready for a highly-anticipated return inside the ring of ONE Championship.

Former ONE lightweight champion Eduard Folayang was once again called up by the prestigious MMA promotional company to suit up for the upcoming ONE Fight Night 14: Stamp vs Ham on September 30, 2023, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

This is Folayang’s first fight after nine months since getting stopped by Edson Marques last December 2, 2022, at the ONE on Prime Video 5: De Ridder vs Malykhin.

The Filipino living legend is also set to unveil his new skill set after announcing his departure from the widely renowned Team Lakay MMA stable several months ago.

Currently, Folayang just opened up a new training ground for himself and his former teammates at Team Lakay which is the Lions Nation MMA stable.

Folayang will be facing a familiar opponent in September as he is set for another matchup against Amir Khan, a fighter whom he already defeated five years ago via unanimous decision.

“I can’t even begin to describe the level of excitement coursing through me as I look forward to the rematch against Amir Khan on September 30th,” said Folayang.

However, Folayang will be in a different scenario than five years ago as he is seeking to halt his five-match losing streak.

Since suffering a split decision loss to Pieter Buist three years ago, Folayang is yet to re-enter the winning column again and redeem himself back in the lightweight division.

Folayang is eager to regain a shot for redemption in the division he once ruled. Proof was his recent trip to the US where he visited several MMA gyms and trained with the Jackson Wink MMA Academy.

The prestigious MMA gym is handled by two of the most-sought coaches in the sport, Greg Jackson and Mike Winklejohn.

“The road to this moment has been grueling, but it’s in this adversity that I’ve found the strength to persevere,” Folayang added.
