BACOLOD City – Police are investigating the motive behind the killing of an elderly man in Barangay 2, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental last Friday.
Police identified the victim as Ernesto Sta. Ana, 70, of Barangay 1.
Police Captain Roger Pama, deputy police chief of San Carlos City Police Station, said Sta. Ana was standing outside his rented house when two unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects arrived and shot him.
The victim suffered a lone gunshot wound on his chest and was taken to San Carlos City Hospital where he expired hours later.
Police recovered from the scene a .45-caliber ammunition shell.
Pama said they have yet to establish the motive of the incident as they have yet to talk to the victim’s family.
