A total of 40,000 senior citizens, persons with disability (PWDs), and indigents in the city received gift packs from the city government as part of its annual gift giving activity.

On Thursday, Mayor Jerry Treñas together with Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon, Congresswoman Julienne Baronda, department heads in the City Hall and personnel of the City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWDO) distributed 5,000 gift packs to senior citizens and PWDs on Friday at the Freedom Grandstand.

“We started the day by sharing love, respect and hope as we extend our help and support to the Ilonggo families around the city of love,” he said on Friday.

According to the mayor, each gift pack contains two kilograms of rice, three sardines and several packs of noodles.

Today, December 20, 2019, Treñas said they will distribute gift packs to 35,000 beneficiaries of the barangay indigent program.

Ginaubra ta gid ini nga tuig. Let us remember the true spirit of Christmas, that is sharing our blessings especially to the less fortunate ones,” he said.
