BACOLOD City – Newly-designated Negros Occidental Commission on Elections (Comelec) supervisor Atty. Ian Lee Ananoria on Friday appealed to candidates to strictly observe health protocols and limit the number of their entourage when filing their respective Certificates of Candidacy (COC).
Ananoria assumed the post Thursday in lieu of Atty. Fatima Aspan who was transferred to Victorias City.
Ananoria said candidates can only be accompanied by two persons.
The media were also reminded to observe social distancing especially in interviews of candidates after they filed their COCs.
The filing of COC for provincial positions, including congressional representatives, was held at the Social Hall of the provincial capitol.
Ananoria said the filing of COC officially started Friday until October 8, 2022, including this weekend, from 8 am to 5 pm.
He also reminded the candidates to review their documents to ensure that these are complete.
