BACOLOD CITY – Two deep well drillers tragically lost their lives to electrocution at Sitio Pispis, Barangay Tapi, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

The deceased were identified by the police as 47-year-old Warlito Rola and his 38-year-old brother-in-law Haneboy Antemo, both from Barangay Magballo.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Roberto Indiape Jr., the city’s police chief, stated that the victims were conducting drilling operations when they encountered a live electrical wire. “They were handling a metal pipe that unfortunately made contact with a live wire,” he explained.

A witness reported to the police that the victims inadvertently allowed the pipe to come into contact with the main power line, leading to the fatal incident.

Indiape noted that the victims sustained severe burns, leading to extensive injuries. Both individuals were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
