INCUMBENT Iloilo City Mayor Joe III Espinosa leads all other candidates for mayor in the May 13, 2019 election, according to the latest survey by Statistics Research Center conducted on April 16-17, 2019.
Joe III Espinosa won with 44.7% of the total respondents while Jerry Trenas came in second with 37.5%.
Dr. Pacita Gonzalez ranked third with 14.3%, while the other candidates and undecided voters accounted for 3.5% of the total respondents.
For Representative of Iloilo City Lone District, Joshua Alim got 38.8%, Jam Baronda had 35.9%, Perla Zulueta got 23.8%. Other candidates and undecided voters accounted for 1.5% of the total votes.
For Vice Mayor, Jeffrey Ganzon got 46.1%, followed by Plaridel Nava with 33.05%, RLeoni Gerochi 19.8%, while other candidates and the undecided voters accounted for 1.05% of the total votes.
The multi-stage probability sampling method covered residents of Iloilo City who are registered voters, 18 years or older. The survey was conducted through face-to-face interview. It had a sample size of 720 respondents from 72 barangay sample spots with 95% level of confidence and plus-minus 3% margin of error.
For city councilors, Dr. Candice Tupas topped the voter preference list followed by Jay Treñas, Lyndon Acap, Daylee Zulueta, Love Baronda, Ed Peñaredondo, Armand Parcon, Cesar Alim, Mandrei Malabor, Rudolf Ganzon, Rodel Agado and Ely Estante.
Kaiser Jadulos, Rex Sarabia and Gilbert Garcia are in 13th to 15th spots.
A ‘Usage, Attitude & Image (UAI)’ survey by the Social Statistics & Research Center last March 19 and 20, 2019 showed that 82% of the respondents agreed with Joe III Espinosa in seeking the Iloilo City Mayorship instead of running for Congressman this May 13, 2019 election.
