The Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) PALIBOSFER has confirmed that they have yet to get hold of the judicial affidavit from the camp of Jan Paul Mark Bosque, one of the three slain victims of the September 14, 2022 shooting incident in Estancia, Iloilo.

This, after the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has yet to provide the SITG with a copy of the judicial affidavit executed by Bosque’s family.

“According to NBI-Western Visayas, they forwarded our letter request to their national office for consideration because as a matter of policy they cannot furnish a copy of judicial affidavit unless the case has already been filed,” Senior Master Sergeant Francisco Lindero Jr., SITG spokesperson, said.

In return, reports indicated that the SITG also did not provide the NBI copies of the judicial affidavits taken from witnesses for the other two slain victims, Chrysler Floyd Fernandes and Mark Clarenz Libao.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-6 took charge of the judicial affidavits of Libao while the Iloilo Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Unit (PIDMU) extracted the affidavits for Fernandes.

As such, it is possible that the NBI will file a case separate from the PNP’s task group.

“But as far as we are concerned, aside from judicial affidavits, we also have forensic and material evidences,” he said.

But Lindero said they couldn’t say when will they be able to file the case on behalf of the victims.

In the end, “our main objective here is to give justice to all the victims,” he said.

Meanwhile, the SITG is hoping for a breakthrough in the investigation once the result of the Integrated Ballistic Information System (IBIS) will come out.

“We hope to identify the owner of the firearm used in shooting to death the three victims,” he said.

The ballistic result indicated that the bullets and empty cartridges recovered from the crime scene at Brgy. Villa Pani-an, Estancia past midnight of Sept 14 were fired from only one caliber .45 pistol.

It was gathered that no data was taken from the Isuzu Mu-X sports utility vehicle (SUV)’s dash camera.

“It was not functional. So, there’s nothing in its media storage,” he said.

On Monday, the SITG said it has prepared the cyber warrant to gain access to the phone of Jevron Parohinog, the sole survivor of the incident.

Parohinog has not issued a waiver or consent allowing SITG to examine his mobile phone.
