eTap Solutions, a subsidiary of Electronic Transfer & Advance Processing, Inc. (eTap), has introduced new rider-focused solutions to cater to the growing motorcycle rider segment.
With more than 4,000 active kiosks nationwide, eTap has seen increased use by riders for top-ups, bill payments, and remittances.
The company aims to enhance financial accessibility and efficiency for riders, who play a vital role in the country’s logistics and delivery ecosystem.
According to Fairwork Philippines, there are over 40,000 Grab Food and Grab Express riders in the country.
Additionally, 2024 data from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) shows that 160,000 new motorcycles are registered monthly, indicating the steady growth of the rider workforce.
Carlo Hernandez, eTap Solutions President and CEO, noted that digital payments are increasingly being embraced by food delivery and logistics riders, especially for daily earnings remittance.
“Rider remittance has emerged as one of our machines’ most popular features, serving couriers from major platforms like Shopee Xpress, Grab, and foodpanda,” Hernandez said.
Using eTap’s machines addresses key pain points for riders, such as long waiting times and limited operating hours.
To provide additional support, eTap manages an exclusive Facebook group for riders, which has over 3,500 members.
The group serves as a platform for riders to engage, seek assistance, and stay updated on exclusive programs, including loyalty campaigns that reward their continued trust in eTap services.
eTap has also partnered with over 400 store partners, including DALI, O!Save, Alfamart, AllDay, Generika, and Julie’s Bakeshop, to bring financial services closer to riders’ communities.
“Riders are a growing demographic that payment solutions providers shouldn’t ignore,” said Hernandez. “We are committed to developing secure, convenient, and accessible solutions that allow them to operate efficiently.”
