TWO cousins were injured after a gun attack evening of Oct. 5, 2019 at Sta. Barbara, Iloilo.
The victims were identified as Rey Geguira, 32, and Marvin Lucinio, 27, of Barangay Agutayan, Sta. Barbara.
Geguira was hit on the back portion of his right thigh while Lucinio on the right buttock.
The incident happened 10:15 p.m. of Saturday while the two victims were buying at a store in nearby Barangay Lupa.
Police Chief Master Sergeant Jesus Wilson Saludares, Sta. Barbara police deputy chief, said the suspect, 35-year-old Alejandro Delatina, greeted them even though the two victims did not know him.
Delatina hails from Ajuy town but married a resident of Barangay Lupa.
Without any provocation or cause, the suspect drew a caliber .22 revolver, shot the victims, and fled.
“We’re still investigating what triggered the suspect to attack the victims,” Saludares said.
Delatina remains at-large as of this writing.
Saludares said the suspect was accused of murder in 2018.
He was released from the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City on May 2019.
