Ex-inmate charged anew for illegal drug trade

IVISAN, Capiz – A former inmate who was collared in a drug raid conducted by police Monday morning, November 27, in Brgy.  Malocloc Norte here was charged anew for illegal drug trade.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) were filed Tuesday morning against Kasmar Bacarro, 32, of Brgy. Malocloc Norte here before the Capiz Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.

Around six sachets of suspected shabu weighing 10 grams and valued at P68,000 were recovered by the Ivisan Municipal Police during the implementation of the search warrant at Bacarro’s house.

According to Major Ruby Magallanes, Ivisan police chief, they also recovered from the suspect’s house several drug paraphernalia, 3 digital weighing scales, and some sachets with suspected shabu residue.

The search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Isabel Poco-Deslate of Branch 19, Roxas City on November 22, 2023 was enforced in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-Capiz).

Magallanes said the suspect was arrested and jailed twice for the same offense. She said his first case was dismissed by the court while he availed of a plea bargaining agreement in his second case in 2022.

The suspect is presently in the custody of the Ivisan police station.
