BACOLOD City – A man who was released from jail last year was stabbed dead at his parent’s house due to a misunderstanding with their renters in Purok Mahimulaton, Barangay Banago here yesterday.

Police identified the victim as Jerald Mirasol, 38, of the said village, a former person deprived of liberty (PDL) at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Barangay Handumanan here.

Police Corporal Eugine Ian Baylon, investigator of Police Station 3, said Mirasol was playing games on his cellular phone on the balcony of the house when the suspects identified as Ruel Domingo, 48, and his son Brix, 19, allegedly stabbed him.

The suspects fled on board a motorcycle, bringing with them the weapons they used in the crime.

Baylon said the victim suffered two stab wounds and was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

The two suspects were renting a room at the house of the victim’s parents.

“Halinan man lang yamuhat bala na wala sa lugar tapos nag kutusay siguro kay miguhay man sila,” the investigator said.

Baylon said they are coordinating with the suspects’ family to help the police encourage them to surrender.
