A former security guard was arrested following a firearm raid at his house in Mina, Iloilo, early on Oct. 1.

Thirty-two-year-old John Henri Planco was taken into custody during a search and seizure operation at his residence in Barangay Naumuan, Mina.

Members of the Mina Municipal Police Station recovered a break-type homemade 12-gauge shotgun and two rounds of ammunition.

Local police conducted the operation under Search Warrant No. 24-264 for a violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).

Lieutenant Esmael Sumagaysay, Mina police chief, said the raid was carried out following numerous complaints against Planco.

Planco had been accused of illegally discharging his firearm, especially when under the influence of alcohol. There were also reports of him allegedly threatening complainants with his gun.

Planco previously faced a criminal charge, but the Manila-based plaintiff later agreed to an out-of-court settlement.

The suspect is now in custody and will be charged with violating RA 10591.
