The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers just landed two of the biggest volleyball names in the UAAP and will again have a huge chance of contending for the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) championship title.
Jolina Dela Cruz and Mars Alba, the 1-2 punch of the De La Salle University (DLSU) that steered the Lady Spikers to the UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball championship title, are set to turn professional after signing with the Cargo Movers.
F2 welcomed the queens of the UAAP last May 28, 2023, and are expected to bring an immediate impact to finally help the Cargo Movers punch a grand finals ticket since entering the PVL.
The former dominant champions of the defunct Philippine Superliga (PSL) are yet to reach a single PVL finals trip and will be going for it again this season after most of their injured star players are now nearing 100% of playing status.
With the addition of Dela Cruz and Alba, the Cargo Movers will be having added depth to their already talented roster.
Dela Cruz, one of the most reliable stars of DLSU head coach Ramil de Jesus, was Season 85’s Best Outside Spiker while Alba, another senior, won the season’s Best Setter award.
The winning mentality both young spikers currently have will be a crucial mental boost to the Cargo Movers especially after a short trip to the finals last conference when they lost in the semifinal round.
Dela Cruz and Alba will be reuniting with their DLSU seniors and are now teammates with Kim Kianna Dy, Majoy Baron, Kim Fajardo, Ara Galang, and Aby Maraño.
Meanwhile, coach de Jesus, the Cargo Movers’ former head coach, is still not confirmed whether he will resume his consultant role or will go back to mentoring the squad.
