Farm Fresh eyes quarterfinals, Akari seeks sweep

Farm Fresh Foxies are set to clash with the unbeaten Akari Chargers today in a high-stakes match that will determine the final quarterfinal slot in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

With a current record of 3-4 and 8 points, the Foxies must secure a win in three or four sets against the dominant Chargers to advance to the quarterfinals.

The battle for the last quarterfinal berth has intensified, with Choco Mucho also in the running. Farm Fresh coach Shota Sato remains confident in his team’s chances.

“I trust our players, and we’ll make the necessary adjustments in training,” Sato said after their recent straight-sets victory over the Solar Spikers.

The match, scheduled for 5 p.m., is critical not only for Farm Fresh but also for Choco Mucho, who are hoping for a Foxies’ loss to keep their quarterfinal hopes alive.

Choco Mucho, currently with a 2-5 record and 7 points, needs a win in three or four sets against PLDT on Thursday, paired with a Farm Fresh loss, to advance based on tiebreak rules.

Akari, led by standout Oly Okaro and a solid local lineup, aims to maintain its perfect record as they head into the playoffs.

A win would secure their dominance in the eliminations, placing them as the top seed for the quarterfinals.

In the earlier matches of the triple-header, Capital1 faces off against Galeries Tower, and Cignal battles Nxled.

Both Capital1 and Cignal are focused on securing victories to improve their standings and gain more favorable matchups in the quarterfinals.

As the elimination round comes to a close, all eyes are on Farm Fresh and Choco Mucho, with their futures in the tournament hanging in the balance.
