A farmer is at large after allegedly shooting his brother-in-law on the evening of December 8 in Tigbauan, Iloilo.
Police have contacted the family of the suspect, Agustin Dolido, a resident of Barangay Dorong-an, Tigbauan, to urge him to surrender, but their efforts have so far been unsuccessful.
Dolido allegedly shot Junic Medina, 54, also a resident of the same barangay, following a heated argument.
According to Captain Alfred Mansoy, Tigbauan police chief, Dolido was drinking with three friends when Medina confronted him.
Medina reportedly questioned Dolido about tying his carabao in front of Medina’s house, an issue that allegedly occurred five months ago.
Dolido lives across from Medina’s house, and the victim had been complaining about the noise caused by the carabao, particularly at night.
“This issue often resurfaces, especially when alcohol is involved,” Mansoy said.
The argument escalated, and Dolido allegedly pulled a gun and shot Medina.
Dolido fled the scene immediately after the incident, while Medina was rushed to Western Visayas Medical Center in Iloilo City for treatment.
Police continue to search for Dolido, who remains at large.
