BACOLOD CITY – A father and son were arrested for their alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade in Purok Tilapia, Barangay 3, here on Sunday night.
Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) identified the suspects as “Bong,” 55, and his son “Ronald,” 33, both residents of the same village.
Police Capt. Genus David, assistant CDEU chief, said the father was the target of the operation after being monitored by police and barangay officials for alleged illegal drug activities.
David said the older suspect had been previously arrested for a drug-related offense and was released from jail a few months ago.
During the buy-bust operation, the son allegedly conspired with his father.
Authorities seized 117 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP795,600, based on the value set by the Dangerous Drugs Board.
David said the older suspect is classified as a high-value individual, while his son is a newly identified street-level individual.
Police also confiscated PHP1,000 in marked money from the suspects.
David added that drug charges will be filed against both suspects, who are now detained at Police Station 2.
