Father, Son Die in Electrocution Incident

BACOLOD CITY – A man and his son died after being electrocuted in Purok 6, Barangay Nabalian, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, on Saturday.

The victims were identified as Salvador Inayan Jr., 55, and Salvador Inayan III, 25, both residents of the village.

Police Lt. Col. Anthony Grande, Himamaylan police chief, said the younger Inayan was carrying a water container on his way home when he allegedly touched a live wire hanging from a post.

A resident saw the younger victim on the ground and informed his family, prompting his father to respond.

Grande said the elder Inayan grabbed his son and was also electrocuted. Both victims were declared dead at the hospital.

Meanwhile, a 52-year-old man drowned in the Bago River in Barangay Pandanon Silos, Murcia, on the same day.

According to police, the victim left work before noon last Friday because he was feeling unwell but did not go home.

The following day, a 23-year-old man found his body floating in the river.
