Fil-Jap rapped for ‘neglecting’ wife yields

A Filipino-Japanese surrendered to authorities for a “violence against women” case.

Shoichi Ushiyama, 32, of JMF Subd. Guzman-Jesena, Manduriao, Iloilo City, presented himself to the Jaro Police Station morning of March 10, 2021.

Lieutenant Colonel Reuben Siason, Jaro police chief, said Ushiyama is a respondent to Criminal Case No. 21-86155 for violation of Republic Act 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004).

Judge Daniel Antonio Gerardo Amular of RTC-6 Branch 32, Iloilo City issued the warrant on March 3, 2021.

A P72,000 bail was set for his temporary liberty.

Siason said Ushiyama’s wife filed the case against him for “non-support.”

Ushiyama immediately posted bail.

Meanwhile, another wanted person was arrested at the Coastal Road area in Barangay Ticud, Lapaz, Iloilo City

Wen Mo Li, 43, of Puerto Real Subdivision, Tabuc Suba, Lapaz, Iloilo City was collared in relation to Criminal Case No. R41-21 for violation of Republic Act 8424 (Tax Reform Act of 1997).

Judge Larnie Fluer B. Palma-Kim of the Municipal Trial Court in the Cities Branch 6 in Iloilo City issued the arrest warrant on March 3, 2021 with the bail bond set at P12,000.
