The Hiyang Filinvest squad spoiled Queen’s Pension House and Vincent Conlu’s 46-point explosion, 117-98, in the JB Amateur Basketball League, Iloilo.

It took a team effort for Hiyang to take control of the ball-game as their steady collective scoring torched Queen’s.

Despite being undermanned, Queen’s was able to make scoring runs off Conlu’s hot hand, knocking down an unprecedented 15 shots from long-distance.

The Queen’s squad continued to feed the hot and trigger-ready Conlu but Hiyang was always ready for an answer.

Hiyang’s Paul Lee was awarded as the player of the game with his 26-point performance to go along with six rebounds and three dimes.

In the other match, the Beach Walk Jollyfeet Malditos nipped the JKG-CTG Commercial, 74-72.

JKG was off to a hot start after jumping to a 10-point lead but the Malditos squad had counter-sets and tightened their post defense as the second canto approached.

The whole second half continued to be a thriller as both teams traded baskets and employed tough defense on the other end, but John Davis Paquingan saved the day, firing 33 points that helped him garner the player of the game honors.
