The first-ever Filipina signed in Serbia’s professional basketball women’s league is living up to the hype as one of the biggest imports in Europe.
Filipina superstar hooper Jack Animam continued to be a force to be reckoned with in the Serbian Women’s Basketball League after impressing with 25 points and 19 rebounds for the ZKK Radnicki Kragujevac basketball club.
Despite the loss, the dominant Filipina posted her third-straight double-double of the season after impressive performances in her first two games.
Animam took the limelight during her Serbian debut after powering her way to 20 points, 14 rebounds, two blocks, and two steals while also carrying her team to a thrilling 78-77 win against the ZKK Proleter 023.
After the win, Animam had another stellar game of 29 points and 12 rebounds but lost at the hands of defending champions ZKK Crvena Zvezda.
“I honestly was not aware of the numbers I was putting up. I was merely following what my coach, Nenad Milovanovic, was telling me – score, rebound, play defense. Then, when I had film viewing of the games with my trainer, coach Dante Harlan, I found myself asking, ‘Did I really do those moves?'” Animam said during an interview with Rappler.
Now with a 1-2 win-loss record after a scintillating three-game double-double streak, Animam and ZKK Radnicki Kragujevac will try to end their two-game losing streak as they face Duga Sabac on October 23.
