A Filipina-American is still on cloud 9 after clinching an opportunity not everyone can easily get in their careers.

Chanelle Molina, one of the emerging stars from the Washington State University, just closed a deal with the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBL) team Indiana Fever.

Under the contract signed, Molina will become a participant in their training camp and will have the chance to gain more knowledge from the professional basketball players.

“There are not many Filipino women in the WNBA, so this is for the progress of women’s basketball all over the world. I will celebrate this success and accomplishment, but it’s back to helping my team overseas win in the morning,” shared Molina.

Included in the stacked Indiana lineup are Candice Dupree, and fellow guards Tiffany Mitchell and Julie Allemand whom Molina can be mentored under as soon as practice sessions kick-off.

Molina ended her last season in Washington State with a bang after averaging 14.6 points on 43.8 percent shooting while grabbing 6.1 rebounds per contest.

“It has taken a lot of hard work, dedication, and patience to get here. The WNBA has always been the goal, therefore I accepted and fell in love with the process to get here,” said Molina.
